Pedestrian Accidents-some examples of successful claims

*A pedestrian failed to use a nearby zebra crossing and was struck by a motorist could see him from 150 yards away. As it was good visibility the Court decided that the driver was going too fast or was not taking enough care.


*A 5 year old boy was knocked down and suffered a severe head injury and other injuries. Whilst he had ran into the road he was awarded 1.5 million in damages.

 


*A pedestrian was struck by a motorist whilst on a zebra crossing. He was of sick from work for 6 weeks and suffered severe bruising


*Whilst crossing the road a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle driven by a 15 year old who was accompanied by a 22 year old.   They both ran off but were later caught. The insurers of the older man settled the claim even though he was not driving.


*A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle as he crossed the road when the traffic lights were on red
